Ryanair launches new London Stansted route to Rhodes in Greece
- Ryanair expanded its Greek network on 7 July when the low-cost airline connected its London Stansted (STN) base with the island of Rhodes (RHO). Flights on the 2,785-kilometre route operate twice a week with the airline’s 189-seat 737-800s. Direct competition comes from Thomson’s weekly service, but there is also indirect competition from other London airports. Thomson also operates once a week from London Luton, while from London Gatwick, there are four airlines serving Corfu; easyJet, Thomson, Thomas Cook and Monarch.

excellent news, greek routes should be very successful
I flew the London Stansted to Rhodes service and the flight out (19th July 2011) was very busy, probably at least 160 people but the one in 2 weeks later was alot quieter, only about 120 people. I hope this route is still busy enough for Ryanair to serve it again in summer 2012 and perhaps even some new Greek services from London Stansted like Crete or Kos.
