Turkish Airlines launches new route to Islamabad from Istanbul
- Turkish Airlines on 21 July added a second Pakistani destination to its network after Karachi when the Star Alliance carrier launched three weekly flights from its Istanbul Atatürk (IST) hub to Pakistan’s capital Islamabad (ISB). Flights operate overnight with 167-seat 737-800s, departing Istanbul in the evening on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and arriving back the following morning. Pakistan International Airlines has previously served the 3,970-kilometre route, most recently between 2006 and last year.
