  • The new relationship between Germany’s airberlin and the UAE’s Etihad has resulted in the German carrier introducing a second service to Abu Dhabi (AUH); this time from Düsseldorf (DUS). The daily A330-300 service will complement Etihad’s own Düsseldorf service, which started last December with four weekly flights and has now been increased to daily for the summer season. airberlin’s existing Berlin to Abu Dhabi service increases from four weekly flights to daily and will then carry on to Phuket (HKT) in Thailand. airberlin CEO Hartmut Mehdorn said: “By adding new daily connections from Berlin and Düsseldorf to Abu Dhabi, we are reinforcing our hubs and strengthening our strategic partnership with Etihad Airways. Flight Guests who fly airberlin can now take daily trips to the Thai holiday island of Phuket, and our business guests will benefit from more frequent flights to Bangkok.”
