Spirit Airlines adds Boston and Phoenix-Mesa from DFW

  • Occasionally controversial self-styled Ultra Low Cost Carrier Spirit Airlines has launched two new routes to further grow its presence at Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) in Texas. A new daily service to Boston (BOS) operated with an A319 will compete with American Airlines who offer over 50 weekly flights (and will be joined by JetBlue starting in May), while Phoenix-Mesa (AZA) will also be served with daily flights using an A320. “Spirit’s launch of flights from DFW to Boston Logan and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport means more good news for our passengers in the form of more choices and great fares,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport. “We’re glad to see Spirit Airlines continue to expand at DFW, because that shows its strong commitment to the Dallas/Fort Worth community.”
