Vueling launches flights from Barcelona to Groningen
Cake of the Week: Vueling’s Barcelona to Groningen
A special ‘Vueling cake’ was baked and served by Groningen Airport to the passengers travelling on the maiden Vueling flight from Barcelona. The airport’s GM Jos Hillen and Vueling’s Country Manager Benelux/Germany Machiel Troost executed the prize-winning cutting.
- On 28 April, the Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling inaugurated services from its Barcelona (BCN) base to the West-Frisian city of Groningen (GRQ), making it the second destination it serves in The Netherlands after Amsterdam. Twice-weekly flights are offered on the 1,400-kilometre route, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with 180-seat A320s. During the high-season between 28 June and 13 September, there will be an additional, third weekly frequency on Thursdays as well. The first flight reportedly achieved an 85% load factor.
