Air Astana starts flying from Astana to Tashkent

• On 12 May, Kazakhstan’s flag carrier Air Astana commenced services from Astana (TSE) to Tashkent (TAS) in neighbouring Uzbekistan. While Air Astana already serves the Uzbek capital with four weekly frequencies from Almaty, Kazakhstan’s former capital, the airline now offers twice-weekly services from Astana. Flights are operated with the airline’s 97-seat E-190s. Air Astana faces competition from Uzbekistan Airways’ two weekly flights on the same route.
