Aeroflot launches new routes to Odessa and Tomsk from Moscow

  • Aeroflot launched two new routes in the last week; one domestic and one to the Ukraine. On 1 June, the Russian flag carrier connected its Moscow Sheremetyevo (SVO) hub with Odessa (ODS), the third-largest city in the Ukraine. Flights to the city on the Black Sea coast operate daily with 87-seat Sukhoi Superjet aircraft. Indirect competition at the other Moscow airports comes from Aerosvit’s nine weekly flights to Vnukovo as well as Transaero’s nine and S7’s two flights a week from Domodedovo. On 2 June, Aeroflot continued its expansion by launching a daily service from its Moscow hub to Tomsk (TOF) in Siberia. The route, which is operated with 140-seat A320 aircraft, indirectly competes with also each daily flights on Transaero and S7 from Domodedovo and UTair from Vnukovo.
