Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford Airport’s Commercial Director, celebrated the inaugural flight to Berlin with Jet2.com.
- UK LCC Jet2.com has started seven new routes spread across three of its UK bases. Newcastle (NCL) is the biggest beneficiary with four new routes to Bodrum (BJV) in Turkey, Reus (REU) in Spain, and Rome (FCO) and Venice (VCE) in Italy. The new Berlin (SXF) service from Leeds/Bradford (LBA) was originally supposed to serve the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The two new East Midlands (EMA) routes to Malaga (AGP) and Murcia (MJV) are likely to benefit from the expected closure of bmibaby in September, although Ryanair will be a competitor on both routes.
