In Venice, the passengers travelling on Air Moldova’s maiden flight to Chisinau were treated to live Moldavian folk music.
- On 5 June, Air Moldova commenced services from its base in Moldova’s capital Chisinau (KIV) to the northern Italian cities Bologna (BLQ) and Venice (VCE), bringing the total number of destinations it serves in the country to five, as the airline already serves Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa and Verona airports. Each new destination is now offered with thrice-weekly frequencies and operated with E-190s. Meridiana fly provides competition on both of the routes as it serves Bologna with two and Venice with one weekly frequencies; additionally, Carpatair flies twice-weekly on the route to Venice.
