jetBlue doubles New York LaGuardia route network

Following a gate party with a ‘monumental cake’ and entertainment provided by a jazz duo, jetBlue departed from Tampa bound for Washington Reagan Airport on 11 June with a shower of affection, courtesy of Tampa Fire Rescue. The daily flights will compete with US Airways’ five daily flights. Posing with the cake were Chris Minner, Tampa International Airport’s VP Marketing; Linda Meech, jetBlue’s GM Tampa; and Scott Link, jetBlue Airport Operations.

  • New York-based jetBlue has launched three new routes to Florida from New York LaGuardia, NY (LGA). The airline already served Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and West Palm Beach, but has now added daily flights to Sarasota/Bradenton (SRQ) and Fort Myers (RSW), and double-daily flights to Tampa (TPA) in the Sunshine State. With the addition of these flights, jetBlue is now offering 16 flights per day between LaGuardia and Florida. The airline also took the opportunity to launch daily flights to Tampa from Washington Reagan, DC (DCA) airport on 11 June. From LaGuardia jetBlue will compete with Delta on the Fort Myers and Tampa routes, while between Washington Reagan and Tampa there is competition from US Airways with five daily flights.
