S7 launches two routes from Siberia to Beijing Capital Airport in China
S7, the Russian oneworld member, launched two new routes to the Chinese capital Beijing (PEK) in the last week. On 16 June, the airline began operating twice weekly from Novosibirsk (OVB), its home base and Siberia’s largest city, via Ulan-Ude (UUD) near the border to Mongolia, using 160-seat 737-800 aircraft. Competition on the first, domestic sector comes from RusLine’s also two flights a week. Two days later, on 18 June, the airline began flying from Omsk (OMS) to the Chinese capital, also twice-weekly, but with A319 aircraft. S7 now operates in total 10 routes to Beijing.
