- On 15 July, germanwings took over yet another route from Stuttgart (STR), previously operated by Contact Air for Lufthansa. As a result of the new strategy, which Lufthansa has implemented since January 2012, germanwings now operates the five weekly services to Manchester (MAN) in the UK. All flights are operated using the airline’s fleet of A319s.
