Toronto Pearson and Ethiopian Airlines celebrate Cake prize; Amsterdam welcomes A380 services

The new Addis Ababa to Toronto service by Ethiopian Airlines recently won anna.aero’s Cake of the Week prize. Proudly showcasing the commemorative certificate in Toronto were GTAA’s Julien Carron, Manager Air Service Development; John Sharp, GM Air Service Development; Mesfin Biru, Ethiopian Airlines’ Country Manager; and GTAA’s Faraz Salim, Manager Air Service Analysis; Jeff Barrow, Senior Manager, Air Service Development; and Darryl Horzelenberg, Manager Cargo Air Service Development.

Just over two years after Emirates made Amsterdam its 23rd European destination, the airline has upgraded the route to an all-A380 service and is now the only carrier to fly the superjumbo to the Dutch capital airport. Cutting the celebratory cake in Amsterdam were Theo Wetering, Lord Mayor of Haarlemmermeer Municipality; Hanne Buis, Schiphol’s Head of Aviation Marketing; Kees van Spronsen, Dutch Consul General in Dubai; and Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ EVP Passenger Sales Worldwide.
