Celebrating the reinstated link from Billund to SAS hub in Denmark’s capital Copenhagen were Jørgen Nielsen, COO Cimber A/S; Robin Kristensen, SAS’ Marketing Director; and Kjeld Zacho Jørgensen, CEO Billund Airport. Cupcakes were baked to mark the resumed link, which was lost at Cimber Sterling’s bankruptcy in May.
- SAS Scandinavian Airlines relaunched the domestic route between its hub in Denmark’s capital Copenhagen (CPH) and the country’s second-largest airport in Billund (BLL) on 13 August. After the bankruptcy of Cimber Sterling in May, the route was left unserved until SAS now enters with 30 flights a week, operated by the new regional airline Cimber A/S. The route will be operated with 66-seat ATR 72 aircraft after a few initial operations with CRJ200s.
