- Indonesia AirAsia expanded its international network out of Surabaya (SUB), Indonesia’s second-largest city, on 19 October when the low-cost airline began operating four times weekly to Johor Bahru (JHB) on the Malaysian border to Singapore. This is the 180-seat A320 operator’s fourth international route from Surabaya after flights to Kuala Lumpur and Penang in Malaysia and Bangkok Don Mueang in Thailand.

Good effort have been made to fly directly from surabaya to bangkok, I think Air Asia could start to penetrate to Japan and australia from surabaya, I appreciate to Air Asia to open more internation route from surabaya, nevermind if garuda do not interest to open international route air asia will be dominated in juanda.
