Allegiant Air launches flights to Columbus Rickenbacker Airport in Ohio

  • Allegiant Air expanded its network out of Orlando Sanford, FL (SFB) on 25 October when the US ultra-low cost airline became the only operator of scheduled commercial traffic at Columbus Rickenbacker, OH (LCK), the secondary airport for Ohio’s capital city that was left without services when Vision Airlines left the airport in early September. Allegiant operates the route twice a week with its MD80 aircraft. Indirect competition at Port Columbus International comes from Southwest’s 15 weekly flights and its subsidiary AirTran’s daily operations to Orlando International.
