Berjaya Air launches new domestic Malaysian route to Kota Bharu

• Berjaya Air took on Malaysia Airlines’ subsidiary Firefly on the busy domestic route between Kuala Lumpur Subang (SZB) and Kota Bharu (KBR). Using ATR 72 aircraft, the regional airline launched twice-daily operations on the route on 28 October. Firefly’s directly competing flights operate 54 times a week, but further indirect competition at Kuala Lumpur International Airport comes from AirAsia’s 56 and Malaysia Airlines’ 33 weekly flights.
