Condor breaks the Lufthansa/TAM duopoly on the Frankfurt to Rio de Janeiro route

• Condor, the German leisure airline, launched its third route to Brazil on 27 October. Apart from Recife and San Salvador in the north-east of the country, the carrier now also offers weekly services from Frankfurt (FRA) to Rio de Janeiro (GIG). Competition on the route comes from Lufthansa’s twice-daily and TAM’s daily flights. Condor will use 767-300ER aircraft to operate the route.
