Flybe resumes former bmibaby routes from East Midlands

Dutch and British cheese exchange: Celebrating Flybe taking on KLM on the route between Birmingham and Amsterdam were Jerry Blackett, CEO of Birmingham Chamber of Commerce; Mandy Haque, Airline and Trade Relations Manager, Birmingham Airport; Iselle Van Dijk from Dutch cheese-maker Bouter; Paul Willoughby, Regional Sales Manager, Flybe; Martin Moyden from Mr Moyden’s Handmade Cheese in Shropshire; and John Philips, Regional Director, Institute of Directors.

  • Flybe launched five new routes from across three UK airports on 28 October; Birmingham (BHX), East Midlands (EMA) and Southampton (SOU). Two of the routes are to Amsterdam (AMS), while Jersey (JER), Paris CDG (CDG) and Nantes (NTE) got a route each. Notably, the routes from East Midlands all used to be served by now closed-down bmibaby, while the new route to Nantes becomes the fifth route Flybe operates to France from Southampton this winter season. All of the new routes are operated with the airline’s fleet of 78-seat Q400 aircraft. The route between East Midlands and Amsterdam is planned to increase to twice-daily frequencies at the start of the summer scheduling season.
