Cambodia Angkor Air breaks Bangkok Airways’ monopoly on the route from Siem Reap to the Thai capital

  • Cambodia Angkor Air, the national carrier of Cambodia, inaugurated flights on the route from Siem Reap (REP), located in the vicinity of the popular tourist destination, to Bangkok (BKK) in Thailand. The launch of this daily service on 30 November broke Bangkok Airways’ monopoly on the route, but at 35 weekly flights, the Thai carrier still provides the lion’s share of capacity. Cambodia Angkor Air will operate ATR72s on the route.
