Vietnam Airlines breaks AirAsia Indonesia’s monopoly on the route from Ho Chi Minh City to Jakarta

• Vietnam Airlines launched services on its first route to Indonesia on 2 December, as it commenced flights from Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) to Jakarta (CGK). Flights on the 1,900-kilometre route are offered with four-weekly frequencies in competition with AirAsia Indonesia’s also four-weekly departures, and break the latter’s monopoly in the market from Ho Chi Minh City to the Indonesian capital. Vietnam Airlines deploys A321s on the route.
