Celebrating Virgin America’s new service in California were Virgin Group Founder, Sir Richard Branson; and Palm Springs Mayor, Steve Pougne.
- Virgin America returned with flights on the 3,800-kilometre route from New York JFK, NY (JFK) to Palm Springs, CA (PSP) on 22 December. Virgin America’s President and CEO, David Cush, said: “The convenience of nonstop service is something that was missing from the New York market, so we’re pleased we can offer this additional option for Northeasterners needing a winter escape to the Desert.” Weekly services will be operated with A319s until late April.
