Blu Express enters the market from Rome Fiumicino to Moscow Domodedovo
Blu Express, the low-cost arm of Blue Panorama Airlines, inaugurated services on the 2,400-kilometre route from Rome Fiumicino (FCO) to Moscow Domodedovo (DME) on 1 April. Blu Express’s President, Franco Pecci, commented: “Budget flights between Russia and Italy will contribute to the development of relationships between two countries. New flights and reasonable prices create new opportunities for cultural exchange and make shopping in Italy more comfortable for Russian tourists.” Twice-weekly flights are now operated by the carrier using B737 in competition with Transaero’s services of the same frequency. Additionally, Aeroflot and Alitalia both operate in the market from Rome Fiumicino to Moscow Sheremetyevo, offering 21 and 17 weekly flights respectively, while Transaero also flies with five weekly frequencies to Vnukovo.
