Emirates makes Tokyo Haneda its third Japanese route

Emirates Airlines inaugurates Tokyo Haneda as its third Japanese gateway

Helping to dispatch Emirates’ maiden service to Haneda in Dubai were Daisuke Matsunaga, Consul General of Japan; Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ SVP Commercial Operation Far East and Australasia; and Ravishankar Mirle, Emirates’ VP Cargo Commercial.

  • Emirates, which already operates daily flights to Tokyo Narita and Osaka Kansai, added Tokyo Haneda (HND) as its third destination in Japan on 3 June. Daily schedule on the 7,900-kilometre route from Dubai (DXB) is now offered and Emirates uses 777-200LRs to operate the service. Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales Worldwide, commented: “Haneda is our third gateway in Japan and we are confident that the demand in terms of both passengers and cargo is strong enough to warrant Emirates operating non-stop, daily flights to both of Tokyo’s airports, offering our passengers more flexibility on the route to Dubai and onwards.”
