Transaero Airlines lands in Tokyo Narita; launches flights from Samara to Paphos
Transaero Airlines commenced operations Japan on 29 May with the launch of services on the 7,500-kilometre route from Moscow Domodedovo (DME) to Tokyo Narita (NRT). Seasonal weekly schedule is operated until 28 September, down one weekly frequency from the airline’s initial plan. 777-200s are used to operate the route, on which Transaero competes with JAL’s thrice-weekly departures. In addition, the airline added a new destination to its offering from Russia’s sixth largest city, Samara (KUF), when it launched flights on the 2,500-kilometre route to Paphos (PFO) in Cyprus on 30 May. Twice-weekly flights are offered in this market and operated using 737-800s. Samara is the fifth Russian city in Transaero’s network to be linked with Paphos.
