Alaska Airlines connects San Diego and Hawaiian Lihue; adds seasonal flights from Portland to Fairbanks
Alaska Airlines added two routes to its offering in the course of last week. On 7 June, the carrier inaugurated flights on the 4,300-kilometre route from San Diego, CA (SAN) to Lihue, HI (LIH), which it serves using winglet-equipped 737-800s. San Diego is the fourth US city in Alaska Airlines’ network to enjoy services to the Hawaiian destination after Seattle (7 weekly frequencies), San Jose (4) and Oakland (3). In addition, on 8 June, the carrier began seasonal services on the route from Portland, OR (PDX) to Fairbanks, AK (FAI), which it operates using 737 family aircraft until 2 September. Both routes are offered with daily frequencies.
