Xiamen Airlines, the Chinese regional carrier that is 51%-owned by China Southern Airlines, began serving Jakarta (CGK) for the first time last week. On 12 September it launched four weekly flights from Fuzhou (FOC), followed on 14 September by thrice-weekly flights from Xiamen (XMN). Both routes are served by the airline’s 737-700s. Xiamen Airlines will celebrate the first anniversary of its membership of the SkyTeam alliance in late November. Next July the airline expects to take delivery of its first (of six) 787 Dreamliners, with all six being delivered by the end of 2015.
