tame's Guayaquil to New York JFK
A model of the Statue of Liberty welcomed guests at Guayaquil Airport in Ecuador, checking in for tame's inaugural flight to New York JFK. The airline will initially operate six weekly flights using its single A330, and competes with LAN Ecuador on the route.
- tame has begun serving New York JFK, NY (JFK) from its base at Guayaquil (GYE) in Ecuador. The six times weekly service was launched on 22 November using the airline's A330. Competition on the 4,780-kilometre sector comes from LAN Ecuador who operate the route on a daily basis using 767-300s. According to the airline's website, the Ecuadorian flag-carrier currently has a fleet of 17 aircraft; one A330, five A320s, four A319s, two ERJ 190s, two ERJ 170s and three ATR 42-500s.
