Scoot's arrival in Perth was celebrated by Campbell Wilson (CEO, Scoot), Stephanie Buckland (CEO, Tourism WA), Glenys Godfrey MLA (Member for Belmont) and Brad Geatches (CEO, Perth Airport). Scoot's five weekly flights from Singapore will face competition from Jetstar Asia, Qantas, Singapore Airlines and Tigerair Singapore.
- Scoot has become the fifth airline to offer non-stop service between Singapore (SIN) and Perth (PER), the Western Australian city where the England cricket team recently surrendered The Ashes back to Australia. The 3,895-kilometre route is already served by Singapore Airlines (four daily flights), Tigerair Singapore (two daily flights), Jetstar Asia (13 weekly flights) and Qantas (daily flights). On 12 December Scoot joined the battle with its five times weekly service using 777-200s. Perth becomes Scoot’s third Australian destination after Gold Coast and Sydney.
