Passengers on Tigerair Mandala’s inaugural flights to Hong Kong, from Denpasar and Surabaya in Indonesia, were greeted by this banner on arrival at the airport. Both flights will be operated daily and join Tigerair Mandala’s existing Hong Kong service from Jakarta.
- Tigerair Mandala has added two more routes to Hong Kong (HKG). It already serves the airport from Jakarta but on 15 December it began daily flights from Denpasar (DPS) in Indonesia, followed the next day by daily flights from Surabaya (SUB). The 3,440-kilometre route from Denpasar is already served by Hong Kong Airlines (17 weekly flights), Cathay Pacific Airways and Garuda Indonesia (both with daily flights), while Cathay Pacific also serves the 3,270-kilometre Surabaya route with daily flights. Tigerair Mandala will operate both routes with its fleet of A320s, which currently number 10, with a further 25 on order, according to Airbus data.
