Carpatair’s first flight from London Luton to Chisinau was marked (right to left) by Simon Harley, Airline Development Manager at London Luton Airport, and the carrier’s cabin crew.
- Carpatair, the Romanian regional airline, added another European route to its network with the addition of twice-weekly flights (Thursdays and Sundays) from Chisinau (KIV) in Moldova to London Luton (LTN). The carrier’s operations on the 2,181-kilometre route began on 19 December using its 148-seat 737-300s. No other airline operates this airport-pair, but Air Moldova provides indirect competition by flying twice-weekly between Chisinau and London Stansted (STN). Commenting on the launch, Simon Harley, Airline Development Manager at London Luton Airport, said: “It is fantastic that Carpatair are now operating from London Luton. This is our first service to the Republic of Moldova and to be able to launch a new destination with yet another new carrier choosing to come to London Luton is testament to the Airport’s convenient location and efficient operations. With Carpatair’s quality onboard service and competitive fares, we are sure the Chisinau flights will be a great success.”
