Tigerair Australia commences seventh Sydney route to Perth

  • Tigerair Australia began its seventh route (all of which are domestic) from Sydney (SYD) on 19 December, commencing a five times weekly service to Perth (PER). For the first week of the new route, the Innovata / Diio Mi schedule indicates a five times weekly operation, however, in the second week this alters to the planned six times weekly service. Flown by the LCC’s 180-seat A320s, the carrier will face 86 weekly competing frequencies – Jetstar Airways (11), Qantas (48) and Virgin Australia Airlines (27). At 3,285 kilometres, the route is the longest sector operated from its Sydney base.
