- t’way air has launched two new routes from its base at Seoul Incheon (ICN) to destinations in Japan. On 20 December, the airline introduced thrice-weekly flights on the 580-kilometre sector to Saga (HSG), followed on 23 December by the launch of daily flights on the 1,390-kilometre sector to Sapporo Chitose (CTS). While the former route faces no competition, the latter is already served by Korean Air with 12 weekly flights and Jin Air with daily flights. Both routes will be served by the airline’s 737-800s, of which it has a total of six. According to schedule data the airline operates 166 flights per week with 110 of these on the 450-kilometre Seoul Gimpo-Jeju route. These two new Japanese routes increase t’way air’s network from four to six routes. The other routes operated by the airline at present are from Seoul Incheon to Bangkok and Fukuoka, and from Seoul Gimpo to Taipei Songshan.
