Budapest Airport rewards partners for excellence in aviation development; KLM shows-off Route certificate; more celebrations at Denver, Lyon and Christchurch Airports

On 6 February, Budapest Airport hosted an evening of recognition for its airlines and other closely-held business partners. New victors at this year’s 7th Annual Aviation Event, included Alitalia (fastest growing full service) and Finnair (most punctual), with Qatar Airways, Wizz Air, Norwegian, Turkish Airlines and Cargolux proudly maintaining their winning positions from last year. 

Proudly showing-off their Route of the Week certificate for last week’s thrice-weekly services from Amsterdam to Santiago operated via Buenos Aires Ezeiza, is KLM Network Planning Team.

Aeromexico celebrated its fifth anniversary at Denver Airport with this special cake on 6 February. Cutting the celebratory cake’s first slice were (left to right): Carlos Bello, Consul General of Mexico in Denver; Giancarlo Mulinelli, Regional Sales Director for the US West Coast, Aeromexico; and Kim Day, Aviation Manager, Denver Airport.

On 10 February, Christchurch Airport welcomed Singapore Airlines’ brand new refitted 777-200 with this fantastic cake. The celebrations were marked by (left to right): Subhas Menon, Regional Vice President Southwest Pacific, Singapore Airlines; Malcolm Johns, CEO, Christchurch Airport; Kathryn, Flight Attendant, Singapore Airlines.

Between the start of the year and 12 February, Lyon Airport has welcomed 300,000 skiers to the facility, due to its perfect spot for quick and easy access to the northern Alps, also known as the biggest skiable area in the world. In addition, the airport provides a total of 20 dedicated staff members that are on hand to take care of the skiers and their equipment, which can be easily collected from special racks after landing.
