On 20 May, Ankara Airport celebrated the launch of transavia.com’s weekly charter services to Amsterdam with a special cake ceremony. On 16 May, Zurich Airport celebrated with a fantastic cake in the shape of Nessie — the Loch Ness monster, Edelweiss Air’s twice-weekly flights to Edinburgh that were launched on 12 May. In addition, the celebrations continued at the other end of the route with another special ceremony marked by (left to right): David Wilson, CEO, Edinburgh Airport; John Watson, CCO, Edinburgh Airport; and Karl Kistler, CEO and Pilot on the inaugural flight, Edelweiss Air.
On 16 May, Enfidha Airport, which is operated by TAV Tunisie welcomed with a cocktail reception and flowers, NOVATURAS’ charter flights from Vilnius. The charter operator will serve this airport pair with 23 flights until 17 October.
On 20 May, London Stansted Airport celebrated with a cake ceremony the arrival of Thomas Cook Airlines’ brand new A321 in the new “Sunny Heart” livery, which will be based at the UK gateway. Ryanair topped the table for the second year running in Bristol Airport’s annual Tracker Awards. The scheme measures compliance with departure routes set up to minimise noise disturbance for local residents and also encourages airlines to use procedures which reduce their noise impact.
