Cutting the new service ribbon for Turkish Airlines’ four times weekly Pisa operation were: Gina Giani, Pisa Airport CEO; along with Hüsetin Çepni, GM Pisa; Serhat Gök, GM Bologna; Kerem Sarp, VP marketing; and Ahmet Olmuştur, all from Turkish Airlines. On some days of the week the airline now offers 17 daily flights to Italy from its Istanbul Atatürk hub.
- Turkish Airlines further strengthened its operations into Italy, a country market which on some days sees the Star Alliance carrier offer up to 17 daily flights, with the addition of four times weekly services to Pisa (PSA). Started on 26 June, the 1,545-kilometre sector from its Istanbul Atatürk (IST) hub, will be flown by a mix of equipment. The airline will face no direct competition on the airport or city pair.
