On 7 July, Denver Airport welcomed Volaris’ second route, this time from Guadalajara, with a special ceremony, including a ribbon cutting and cupcakes served to passengers on the inaugural flight.
- Volaris expanded its presence at Denver, CO (DEN) with the addition of a new route from Guadalajara (GDL) on 7 July. The 2,147-kilometre sector will be operated weekly (Mondays), utilising the carrier’s 174-seat A320s. There is no competition on this route. Volaris is also flying to Denver with thrice-weekly flights from Mexico City and will commence weekly operations from Chihuahua on 12 July. Commenting on the route launch, Michael Hancock, Mayor of Denver, said: “Volaris has shown commitment to the Denver market by increasing nonstop destinations since the airline began services in December 2012. Each new city added strengthens Mexico’s connectivity to Denver and the world, and opens up greater economic opportunities for both countries.”
