Jacksonville Airport celebrated with this fantastic cake the inaugural flight of Silver Airways’ 18 weekly flights to Fort Lauderdale on 19 August. The carrier’s 16th intra-Florida route will see a frequency increase to six times daily starting from 2 November.
- Silver Airways commenced its 16th intra-Florida airport pair with the addition of 18 weekly services from Jacksonville, FL (JAX) to Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL) on 19 August. The 512-kilometre route will be operated by the airline’s Saab 340s, and will see a frequency increase to six times daily starting from 2 November. In fact, this is the carrier’s second route from Jacksonville, the other being operated to Tampa with 15 weekly flights. Silver Airways will face direct competition on the new service from Southwest Airlines’ 16 weekly flights. Commenting on the new route launch, Steve Grossman, CEO, Jacksonville Aviation Authority, said: “We are excited about Silver Airways’ new service to Fort Lauderdale. Multiple flights per day between our two communities mean convenience for both business and leisure travellers. As Silver continues to build intra-state air services, we look forward to their growth in the Northeast Florida region.” See how Jacksonville Airport’s FTWA compares to the others sent in this week from around the world.
