YANAIR’s Kiev Zhulyany to Tbilisi
On 19 August, Tbilisi Airport celebrated with a cake ceremony the arrival of YANAIR’s twice-weekly services from Kiev Zhulyany, which are operated on Tuesdays and Sundays using the airline’s Saab 340s. Cutting the cake are: Aleksey Tarasov, Commercial Director, YANAIR; Tea Zakaradze, Deputy General Manager, TAV Georgia; Akaki Barkaia, Ground Handling Manager, TAV Georgia.
- YANAIR, the Ukraine regional airline that operates a fleet of two Saab 340s and a single A320, expanded its presence in the Georgian market with the addition of twice-weekly flights (Tuesdays and Sundays) from Kiev Zhulyany (IEV) to Tbilisi (TBS). The 1,462-kilometre sector was inaugurated on 19 August utilising the airline's 33-seat Saab 340s. However, the route is already served by Air Caucasus’ four weekly operations. YANAIR is also serving the Georgian market with thrice-weekly flights from Kiev Zhulyany to Batumi. Commenting on the route launch, Mete Erkal, GM, TAV Georgia: “We are glad that YANAIR has performed its first flight from Kiev to Tbilisi and from Tbilisi to Kiev. From now on passengers of Tbilisi Airport will be able to land in both Boryspil and Zhuliany airports in Kiev. Entry of each new air company to Georgian aviation market is remarkable example of development of tourism and aviation sector in Georgia.”
