Posing for a commemorative picture are some of the crew of the first AirAsia Zest flight from Cebu to Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia. Passengers on the inaugural flight were greeted with leis, caps and goody bags. The new service will operate four times weekly and faces no direct competition.
- AirAsia Zest on 27 March launched four times weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) flights on the 996-kilometre route between Cebu (CEB) in the Philippines and Kota Kinabalu (BKI) in Malaysia. No other carrier serves this airport pair, which will be operated by the airline’s A320s. AirAsia Zest already serves Kota Kinabalu with four weekly flights from Manila. From Cebu this becomes the airline’s second international destination as it already serves Seoul Incheon in South Korea with daily flights.
