After a near two-year hiatus in commercial services at Suceava Airport in Romania, TAROM re-opened the domestic sector from Bucharest on 12 November. ATR 42 services will be flown twice-weekly.
- TAROM has re-started the domestic sector between Bucharest (OTP) and Suceava (SCV), which was last operated in January 2014 before the regional Romanian airport was closed for modernisation works. The twice-weekly (Mondays and Thursdays), 346-kilometre long sector is to be flown by the airline’s 48-seat ATR 42s. Started on 12 November, the route faces no competition. Situated 12 kilometres away from Suceava city centre, in Salcea town, the airport has one of the most modern airport infrastructures in Romania, having just finalised the implementation of a €39 million rehabilitation programme. With a new control tower and a runway of 2,460 metres, Suceava is ready to cater for the growing market.
