Jetstar Japan celebrated its first service to the Philippines in Manila on 15 March with the launch of flights from Tokyo Narita.
- Jetstar Japan has become the fifth carrier to operate regular scheduled flights between Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Manila (MNL). On 15 March the LCC joined All Nippon Airways, Cebu Pacific Air, Japan Airlines and Philippine Airlines in operating the 3,048-kilometre route between the two capital city airports. Weekly frequency will vary between five and seven flights per week for the next few weeks. Flights depart Narita at 20:30 arriving in Manila at 00:05 the following day. The return flight then leaves at either 00:35 or 01:05 before getting back to Tokyo just before 07:00. This is Jetstar Japan’s first route to the Philippines with two more to follow in the coming weeks. Apart from Japanese domestic routes Jetstar Japan also flies to Taipei in Taiwan and Hong Kong with its fleet of 20 A320 aircraft.
