CEO leads Aer Lingus to reclaim “Fastest Airline In The World” in Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run, sponsored by Airbus and Qatar Airways

Watch out SWISS, they’re coming back! Fitter, stronger and in bigger numbers, Aer Lingus is out to reclaim the title of “Fastest Airline in the World,” led by CEO, Stephen Kavanagh. Taking place on the airport’s 13R-31L on Saturday 3 September 2016, the Budapest Airport-anna.aero Runway Run is the air transport industry’s premier charity-sportive event.

"You have a whole bunch of Aer Lingus runners and my expectation is that you’ll have even more – and you can count me in.”  This is fighting talk from, Stephen Kavanagh, Aer Lingus CEO, who hopes the record number of entrants from the Irish carrier will lead it to reclaim the crown of “Fastest Airline in the World.”  Aer Lingus proudly raised the team trophy in 2014, but having been knocked off the podium last year by SWISS, Kavanagh has vowed to return stronger and faster. This year’s BUD Runway Run will take place at 11:00 on Saturday 3 September 2016 on Budapest Airport’s runway 13R-31L. Entering an Aer Lingus team of 15, with a CEO’s promise that there are yet more runners to enlist, the IAG airline will be joining the increasing number of airlines, airports and enterprises from across the aviation community registering to be part of this year’s event which is sponsored by Airbus and Qatar Airways, raising the prospect that competitors will exceed the 1,000 mark this year (920 runners competed in 2015). If you love the idea of running down the runway in the awesomely beautiful city of Budapest then register your interest:
