- Ukraine International Airlines commenced its latest domestic connection from Kiev Boryspil (KBP) on 12 July, a 425-kilometre sector to Chernivtsi (CWC). Flown on ERJ 145s operated by the carrier’s partner airline Dniproavia, the airport pair will face no direct competition. “We keep developing domestic services,” noted Evgeniya Satska, Ukraine International Airlines’ Corporate Press Secretary. “Currently, given technical restrictions of Chernivtsi Airport, we have to operate flights on a partner airline`s aircraft. We hope that regional authorities will find funds to modernise the airport. This will allow Chernivtsi to accommodate our larger Boeing 737s, and will let Ukraine International offer a wider selection of travel opportunities to its passengers.” Flights depart Boryspil at 20:40, arriving into Chernivtsi at 21:55. The aircraft then stops overnight and departs at 07:00 the following morning, arriving back into the Ukrainian capital at 08:15. Chernivtsi becomes the seventh domestic destination for the carrier from Boryspil, with it also linking the capital to Dnepropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, Odessa and Zaporizhia. Boryspil is currently the only scheduled connection on offer from Chernivtsi. See how Chernivtsi Airport’s FTWA compares to others from around the world.
