Halifax Airport celebrated the start of WestJet Encore’s new service from Montreal, launched 15 March, with a classic route launch cake. The airline will offer a twice-daily service on its Q400 fleet between the two airports.
- WestJet Encore commenced flights between Montreal (YUL) and Halifax (YHZ) on 15 March. The carrier joins Air Canada and Porter Airlines on the 803-kilometre airport pairing, with the two competing carriers offering 60 weekly flights combined. WestJet Encore itself will offer a twice-daily connection on its Q400 fleet. “We are very pleased to see WestJet’s continued expansion in our region with the addition of this important Montreal connection from its Atlantic hub,” says Joyce Carter, Halifax International Airport Authority President and CEO. “These flights are a welcome addition to the network already served by WestJet from Halifax and offer our passengers more choice on this busy Montreal route.”
