Preparing to cut the cake at Cebu Airport on 10 April to celebrate the arrival of Xiamen Airlines’ first service from Jinjiang are: Janette Cordero, President, Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions Inc. (PAGGS); Aines Librodo, Head of Airline Marketing, GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation; Judy Gabato, OIC Region 7, Department of Tourism; Steve Dicdican, General Manager, Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority; Honorable Julius Cezar Flores, Philippine Consul General in Xiamen; Liang Yin Bin, GM of Xiamen Air Travel, JinJang Branch; Huagun Lin, Country Manager, Xiamen Airlines; and Xiamen Airlines flight crew. This is the SkyTeam carrier’s second route to Cebu which it already serves from Xiamen.
- Xiamen Airlines has begun its fourth non-stop route between China and the Philippines. On 10 April it introduced twice-weekly (Mondays and Fridays) flights on the 1,706-kilometre route between Jinjiang (JJN) and Cebu (CEB). The SkyTeam carrier already serves Cebu from Xiamen and also serves Manila from both Xiamen and Jinjiang. No other carrier serves this new airport pair. This takes the airline’s share of the China to Philippines market (as measured by seats offered) to 12.7%, ranking it fourth behind Philippine Airlines (31.3%), China Southern Airlines (14.5%) and Cebu Pacific Air (13.1%). See how Cebu Airport’s FTWA compares to others from around the world.
