A cake cutting ceremony was held at Oradea Airport on 1 September to celebrate the start of Ryanair’s new service from London Stansted. Seen conducting the cake cutting are Gheorghe Paşc, Director of Oradea Airport and Bauman Dieter-Gergo, Specialist at Bihor Destination Management Agency. Ryanair will operate the route three times weekly.
- Ryanair commenced a new route between London Stansted (STN) and Oradea (OMR) on 1 September. The 1,648-kilometre route, the carrier’s third to Romania from the UK capital airport after Bucharest (twice-daily) and Timisoara (daily), will be flown three times weekly on its 737-800s, with no other airline offering direct competition. Stansted becomes Ryanair’s third route to Oradea after Milan Bergamo and Girona, while a fourth to Memmingen commenced on 5 September. A fifth route to Weeze in German is scheduled to begin 30 October.
