Avior Airlines commenced flights between Caracas (CCS) and Bogota (BOG) on 3 October. The carrier will offer a daily service on the 1,024-kilometre airport pair using its 737-400s. According to Flightradar24.com, the inaugural flight encountered a one-hour 12-minute delay, arriving into Bogota at 09:02 instead of the planned 07:50 scheduled timing. Referring to the operational schedule, it appears that the airline will perform an aircraft switch in Bogota, as the departure time for flights back to Caracas is 07:00, with the arriving aircraft from the Venezuelan capital then operating the carrier’s daily service to Valencia, Venezuela’s third largest city. The return flight from Valencia arrives back into Bogota at 18:55, showing that the aircraft will night-stop in Bogota. Avior will face direct competition on the Colombia-Venezuela capital connection, with tame already operating the route six times weekly on its E190s.
