The inaugural Vueling service from Bilbao to Jerez was a given a water arch salute by the former airport’s fire tenders while departing on 27 March. The Spanish LCC will serve this 777-kilometre domestic airport pair three times per week with A320s and faces no direct competition.
- Vueling introduced a Spanish domestic double last week, introducing a new service from Bilbao (BIO) to Jerez (XRY) on 27 March, before adding a link from A Coruña (LCG) to Palma de Mallorca (PMI) on 28 March. The 1,012-kilometre A Coruña-Palma de Mallorca route will be operated twice-weekly (Wednesdays and Saturdays), while the shorter 777-kilometre Bilbao-Jerez sector will be flown three times per week. Both airport pairs will be operated with A320s and neither faces any direct competition. According to OAG data, when these new routes are included, Vueling is scheduled to serve six domestic destinations from A Coruña and 14 from Bilbao during S18.
