Among those at the launch of Tassili Airlines’ new service between Oran and Strasbourg were: Belkacem Harchaoui, CEO, Tassili Airlines; Houria Yousfi, Consul General, Consulate of Algeria in Strasbourg; and Thomas Dubus, CEO, Strasbourg Airport. The French facility also baked a cake to welcome the arrival of its latest connection.
- Tassili Airlines launched flights between Oran (ORN) and Strasbourg (SXB) on 5 July. The Algerian carrier will offer a weekly (Thursdays) service on the 1,585-kilometre sector between the African and European cities using its fleet of 737-800s. No other airline presently operates flights between the two airports. “We decided to open this line for the summer season,” commented Belkacem Harchaoui, CEO of the Algerian carrier. “We come to accompany our compatriots settled in the Loraine Region to come to Algeria to spend the holidays and meet their families.” Flights will operate until 6 September based on OAG Schedules Analyser data. Strasbourg is the only destination in France which Tassili Airlines flies to from Oran, with the carrier already linking the French city to Algiers and Constantine. The airline also flies to Nantes, Nice and Paris CDG from Algiers. Presently the African airline has a fleet of four 737-800s and eight Q400s according to various sources.
